History of the expanding sealer
The idea for CC Expanding Sealer was born when Johan Strömberg worked as a foreman at Ugglarps Bygg in Falkenberg. During a window installation, one of the carpenters used foam containing isocyanates, which triggered an allergic reaction and required emergency care. The incident was an eye-opener for Johan, who realized the need for a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to foam – a solution that could eliminate the risks associated with harmful chemicals.
After a long development process, CC Expanding Sealer became a reality – a modern, innovative version of the traditional tarred caulking, with a design reminiscent of a licorice strip. The fine-pored foam is compressed to 2 millimeters but gradually expands to its full thickness of 30 millimeters within about 1.5 hours, thanks to its unique binder.
“It doesn’t matter if you need to pause in the middle of the installation,” says Johan. “With CC Expanding Sealer, you also get better insulation values than traditional methods like foam or glass wool. It’s both smoother and more efficient – a smarter solution for the construction industry, which I’m very proud of!”
Background of the CC tape
Twenty years in the construction industry take a toll on the body, especially the knees. Johan Strömberg knows this from experience, with three strenuous knee surgeries behind him. Like many other carpenters, Johan has crawled on his knees and jumped on benches to mark out CC measurements correctly – until he invented a product that could facilitate the work! A non-stretchable tape with exact measurements marked at 30 cm and 45 cm. A product that Johan hopes will help his industry colleagues’ bodies last longer!
